But it's great! Ludicrous South Korean rap beats terrible American pop (Justin Bieber, who that pudgy dude displaced as Number One Ever on YouTube) -- what's not to love?

Apparently there's a global craze right now for everything South Korean. It's a real thing here -- watching South Korean soaps, wearing the fashions, etc. So actually, it's not so much exporting American culture as taking it, twisting it and in some ways overtaking it.

Apparently Gangnam is a fashionable neighborhood of Seoul. So it seems to me like a satire of third world chic, right down to the pseudo-Bollywood stuff. (OK, Korea hasn't been third world since MASH, but we'll grandfather them in. Anyway, it's not the West.)

I love it that the Number One YouTube Video Of All Time is by a rapping, dancing South Korean singing about some neighborhood in Seoul.

Some guy in the UK just dropped dead of a heart attack trying to do the dancing in that video.
